OVERVIEW
8Ball was an alternative rock band based in Dublin. The band was active throughout most of the 2000s. The band had a lineup which numbered 6 or 7 members which included Allen Monaghan [Guitar, Vocals, Bass Guitar & Keyboards], Sarah Jane Evenden [Vocals, Bass Guitar, Guitar, Synths, Programming & Percussion], Ken McAlester [Vocals, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Sampling & Percussion], Austin Agnew [Guitar, Synths, Programming, Vocals & Percussion], Bren McGinley [Vocals, Guitar, Organ, Bass Guitar, Synths & Programming] and Steven Lightfoot [Drums, Vocals, Percussion, Bass Guitar & Programming].

The band has released two albums - '8Ball' [2005] and 'With All Your Friends' [2009]. Both of these were critically acclaimed records. In addition to this, '8Ball' also released a number of excellent singles - 'Strange Boy' [2004], 'The Big Blue' [2006] and 'Dig It' [2009].

Towards the end of the decade, the band members started working on other projects. Sarah Jane, Ken, Austin and Bren all performed as Bearbones. Ken also performed with Skeleton Bones and Alright Chief. Performing with Ken as part of Alright Chief was Allen Monaghan. Allen also played with former members of Sickboy and Crimes Against as part of Ghost Estates.
