OVERVIEW
The Ambience Affair is an indie rock band based in Dublin. The group was originally formed in 2008 as a two-piece comprised of Jamie Clarke [Vocals & Guitar] and Marc Gallagher [Drums & Percussion]. However, in late 2010, Yvonne Ryan joined the band on bass guitar, piano and vocals. Yvonne had previously been a member of Disconnect 4.

The band's sound is based on largely on Jamie's looped guitars and vocals. There are obvious influences from the likes of Grizzly Bear, Sigur Rós and Arcade Fire. The Ambience Affair released its debut EP, 'Fragile Things' in early 2009. The 4-track release contain 'Vacant Hearts', 'The Great Enchanted' and 'I Recoil' as well as the title track. In October of that year, the group performed as part of the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin.

In the following Januuary, the band released a second EP entitled 'Patterns'. One of the tracks from this release, 'Parting Patterns' was later used on 'CSI ::: NY'. The band went on to sign with Blue Stack Records over the Summer of 2011. The band releassed its debut album, 'Burials' on that imprint in October tof the same year. As the year came to a close, The Ambience Affair performed as part of the Other Voices ::: Songs From A Room festival in Dingle. The performance was broadcast on RTE television in 2012.
