| OVERVIEW <B></B><BR>Aster ix was an alternative rock band from Derry that was active from the mid to late 1990s. The group featured Donal Convery [Vocals & Guitar], Vincent Harkin [Guitar & Vocals], Frankie McEldowney [Bass Guitar, Guitar & Vocals] and Darren Gallagher [Drums]. Donal had pfreviously performed with Devlin. The group burst on to the scene in 1997 with the release the the debut single 'Laura Loves' which was named Single Of The Fornight in Hot Press Magazine. The band's next release, 'She' So Young' followed in 1998 and garnered the same recognition from Hot Press. 1999 was a busy one for Asterix with further single releases in the shape of 'Pulse' and 'Somewhere In Bhutan' as well as the launch of the debut album 'I Know Your Soul'. However, that year sadly also saw the ground come to an end.
