OVERVIEW Awake Young Soldiers came into being in 2010. However, the group had been together previously under the name Cabin Fever since 2009. From Straffan, Co. Kildare, the band features David Fahey [Vocals & Guitar], Mairead Kavanagh [Vocals & Percussion], Mark Rochford [Drums & Percussion], Conor Biddle [Lead Guitar, Vocals & Percussion], David Prendergast [Keyboards & Vocals], William Murtagh [Percussion, Vocals, Glockenspiel & Bass Guitar] and Stevie Darragh [Bass Guitar, Vocals & Lead Guitar]. In June 2010, Awake Young Soldiers won the Platform V Oxegen Battle of the Bands which earned the group a slot on the 2FM/Hotpress Academy Stage at Oxegen. The band released it's debut EP entitled 'From The Veteran's Dreams' on 01 July 2010. 2010 - Band formed - Awake Young Soldiers win the Platform V Oxegen Battle Of The Bands, earning a slot on the 2FM/Hotpress Academy Stage at Oxegen - Release of 'From The Veteran's Dreams' EP [01 July] 2011 - Release of 'When Leo Met Cherry' EP [11 January]
