| OVERVIEW BATS is a hardcore post-punk band based in Dublin. The group was formed in 2006 by three ex-members of the band Martha Washington - Conor McIntyre [Guitar & Vocals], Noel Anderson [Drums & Vocals] and Timmy Moran [Bass Guitar & Vocals]. The trio was joined by Rupert Morris [Vocals & Guitar] and Craig Potterton [Guitar & Vocals] in completing the lineup. The band spent about a year writing an rehersing before finally hitting the live circuit in 2007. This year also saw the band release its debut EP 'Cruel Sea Scientist' on Armed Ambitions Records. The group continued to play live regularly and, in 2008, BATS performed as part the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin. The band spent the next number of months finalising its debut album. 'Red In Tooth & Claw' was released on The Richter Collective imprint in August 2009. The album was warmly received. Rocksound Magazine named the record it's #75 in its 2009 albums Of The Year poll. BATS played the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival once more in 2011. All the while, the band was working on its second record.
