DUBLIN | 1998 - 2003 |
OVERVIEW Deputy Fuzz was a lo-fi indie band from Dublin. The group was formed by three school friends Mark Palmer [Vocals & Guitar], Bronwyn Murphy-White [Bass Guitar] and James Byrne [Drums]. There is little know about the group. The band's single album release, 'Music For Toys' was released on Catchy Go-Go Records in 2002 after James reached out to the label. That year also saw the band contribute the track 'No Son No Daughter' to the 'Deaf Languages' compilation. In November of that year the group played at Ballroom Of Romance #7 along with the likes of Capratone and Delorentos. The band returned to the same venue in May 2003 to play alongside Drat, Amongst others. Shorthly after this, Deputy Fuzz came to an end. The trio became Life After Modelling with the addition of Bennie Reilly. Bronwyn has gone on to play with groups such as Grand Pocket Orchestra, We Are Losers and Skelocrats while James has drummed with The Last Post and Villagers. In December 2012, the band got back together for a once off gig Upstairs At Whelans to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the relase of the 'Music For Toys' record. An extended version of the album was released to co-incide with the anniversary. The album featured 3 additional tracks - 'Kids Dig Punk', 'No Son No Daughter' and 'Moviefish Superstars' 1998 - Band formed 2002 - Release of 'Music For Toys' album - Deputy Fuzz contribute the track 'No Son No Daughter' to the 'Dead Languages' compilation - Deputy Fuzz play Ballroom Of Romance #7 at The Lower Deck in Portobello, Dublin [15 November] 2003 - Deputy Fuzz play Ballroom Of Romance #16 at The Lower Deck in Portobello, Dublin [09 May] - Deputy Fuzz morphs into Life After Modelling 2012 - Release of an expanded version of 'Music For Toys' album [19 December] |
