CORK 1981 - 1983
OVERVIEW
Factor Fiction was a new wave band from Cork. The band was formed in 1981 after Vice Versa decided on a name change. The band also shares a history with Orpheus and Berserk with whom many of the members had played. That lineup included Mike O'Brien [Vocals], Vincent Lyons [Lead Guitar], Ger Hennessy [Guitar & Keyboards], Paul O'Mahony [Bass Guitar & Vocals] and Padraig Murphy [Drums & Percussion]

The band recorded one EP, 'Sometimes' in 1982. The 7-track release featured tracks such as 'Powerchat', 'Time & Eternity' and 'The Long Way Round' as well as the title track. The band is also believe to have recorded Dave Fanning Session around this time also.

While still part of Factor Fiction. Mike and Paul also collaborated with members of Nun Attax and Constant Reminders as part of the Loko Parentis recording project. Mike subsequently left the group in 1983. Vincent , Paul and Padraig worked together again in about 1986 as part of Totally Unpredictable, a recording project. Several years later in 2007, Paul resurrected the Loko Parentis name albeit with a totally new lineup. Thi band went on to release a couple of critically acclaimed albums.
