DROGHEDA, CO. LOUTH 2011 -
OVERVIEW
Featuring X is an all-girl indie rock band from Co. Louth. The five girls got together as 16 year olds in 2011 with a mutual love of music. The line up features Niamh Sharkey [Vocals], Dara Farrelly [Guitar], Eleanor Rogers [Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals], Sarah McLaughlin [Bass Guitar] and Jenny McKeown [Drums]. The band announced its arrival on the scene with the release of their self-titled debut EP in June 2013. The release included 'Jeckyll & Hyde', 'The Boat' and 'One Too Many Times'. The band's next release was 'Wild Love' which followed in June 2014. This was a cover version of Rea Garvey's hit single. However, it was the accompanying video that captured a lot of the headlines. Directed by Gavin Kilduff, the video paid homage to Robert Palmer's iconic 'Addicted To Love'. That video saw Robert's backing band made up black-clad, guitar-strumming models. The Featuring X girls go one better than their predecessors by simply being able to play their own instruments! The band's 3rd release followed in April 2015. This came in the form of the 'More Than You Can Chew' single.

The Girls have also been regular performers on the live scene playing festivals such as Le Cheile, Longitude and the Electric Picnic.
