| Formerly known as Bawl, the band released
one criminally under-rated album in the shape
of Year Zero which fizzed with great tunes. Front man Mark Cullen has the perfect mix of snarl and arrogance to become a truly great singer. The new single, Every Night, released later this month is a mouth-watering taster of the as yet untitled album scheduled to hit the shops later this year. Fixed Stars specialise in three-minute sonic assaults that worm their way into your head and refuse to leave quietly. Ian Broudie of the Lightning Seeds was so impressed with a recent support slot byFixed Stars that he invited Mark Cullen to write the lyrics for three songs on the latest Seeds album. With a pedigree like that, it looks like Fixed Stars should be perfectly placed to bring their demented form of glam-pop to a wider market. |
