It boasts great lines like "We've got girlfriends/we've got patience/we've got blueprints for Playstations". Here's more "We're dismissive and compulsive/we've got razors and vibrators/we can get away with murder/we have respect for all new liars." Good? A Joy! Every line a gem.

While their limited-edition spring release 'Blueprints' served up a teaser for what Fixed Stars were capable of, the appearance of 'Here Comes The Music' ups the ante considerably and shows just why their 'Illegitimate Targets' debut is the most eagerly awaited Irish album in years. Produced by Lightning Seeds mainman Ian Broudie, 'Here Comes The Music' lurches into action on a stomping synth-sodden riff until Mark Cullen's vocals take the melody into a totally unexpected arc with the words "For The Sad And The Sweet And The Dreamers/For The Overweight Underachievers" - clever little sod. In just under three minutes Fixed Stars make a complete nonsense of the notion that Irish Rock 'n' Roll is in a terminal tailspin , as this as assured, vital and subversive as any record you're likely to hear on the radio this year. And hear it you will - come on, do you think any daytime DJ could possibly resist opening their show with a song called 'Here Comes The Music'? Infectious and quite quite magnificant.
