OVERVIEW The Former Soviet Republic is a solo project of Ian Wright. The Kildare-native has been involved with music for a number of years. His musical work has included an internet collaboration with Chicago-based Adam Kivel which was known as ¬~& or Negation Tilde Ampersand for the uninitiated. Ian released his debut album as The Former Soviet Republic in August 2011. The album was entitled 'The Former Soviet Republic Is Made Of This' and was a collection of well-crafted guitar -pop. The sound is shoegaze-y in nature with definitive folk undertones. In 2012, Ian reworked the track 'I'm Gonna Love Ya' for the 'Plunderphonics ::: A Tribute To Big Monster Love' compilation. 2011 - Release of 'The Former Soviet Republic Is Made Of This' album [20 August]
