OVERVIEW Fresno was a rock band with its roots in Roscommon. The band featured Pat Ambrose and Brian McGowan amongst others - the full lineup is unknown. The group came together in 2002, however, the band members previously performed under different guises such as Inertia and Neon. In May 2003, Fresno released its debut EP 'Now That You Know Me'. Tha EP's title track was really well received and drew comparisons with Jeff Buckley. That same year saw the band being named one of 'Ireland's Most Promising Acts by Hot Press Magazine. In what was a busy year for the band, Fresno also reached the final of Tom Dunne's Witnness Rising Competion. Had they won, they would have secured a slot at the famous festival. Unfortunately, Fresno missed out. In November 2003, Fresno performed at the Songs From The Parlour. These regular acoustic nights in the Stag's Head Dublin ran from about 2002 - 2004. Fresno's performance included a performance of 'Nobody's Girl'. To round off an impressive period for the band, 'Now That You Know Me' was included on the soundtrack for the independent Irish Film, 'When Bridie Met Gary' Fresno were gearing up for an album release in 2004. However, this did not materialise. However, in 2005, they released the radio-only single 'Lied'.
