OVERVIEW The Hard Ground is a Cork-based folk-rock band. The group formed in 2011, however, Marlene Enright [Vocals & Keyboards] and Pat Carey [Guitar & Vocals] had been performing as Berries Blue for some time before the formation of The Hard Ground. Berries Blue also used a number of satellite members and these included Dave Duffy [Bass Guitar] and Davie Ryan [Drums]. This quartet got together to form the band. In the group's short career to date, the band has made a big impact on the local scene and has been described as 'classy' by Hotpress Magazine. The band unveiled its debut single, 'Pawn' in March 2012. A double A-Side single, 'Dance Of A Lady / Reckless' followed in early July. Also in July 2012, the band released its debut long player. Entitled, 'Broken Conversations', the collection contained a total of eleven tracks including the singles released to date.s The band returned in 2014 and decided on a different approach to their next album release. The band would release a series of three EPs which would aggregate together to form the album. The first of these EPs, 'Triptych : 1' was released in May 2015. Further EPs followed in September 2014 and April 2015. April 2015 also saw the release of the full long player.
