OVERVIEW Hoarse Box is an indie rock band from Dublin. The quartet of Johnny Holden [Keyboards & Vocals], Philip Broadberry [Guitar & Vocals], Kieran Walkin [Bass Guitar & Vocals] and Max Carpio [Drums & Vocals] came together in 2006. Their style has been descibed as upbeat indie with their vocal harmonies giving them an individual sound. The band released their debut single. 'Rosey' in 2008 and followed this quickly with the 'Cuckooland' EP. A further single 'All I Need' followed in 2009 with the double A-Side of 'Work Party / Inside Out' released in January 2010. In 2009, the band participated in the Raw Sessions series which was broadcast on RTE television. The series saw a number of groups asked to write a new song in 12 hours under the careful gaze of the cameras. Hoarse Box wrote the track 'I Love Harlem' as part of the series and this appeared on 'The Raw Sessions' compilation album which was given away free with Hot Press. That year also saw the band nominated in the Best Newcomer category at the Irish Music Television Awards.
