1995 - 1999

OVERVIEW The Hormones formed in London in 1995. The band soon signed to V2 Affiliate label 'Banana'. In 1996, their debut single, 'Are You With Us?' was released. This was followed by 4 other releases, 'This Is The Sound', 'Stay Ahead', 'Don't Let Them Get You Down' and 'Mr. Wilson'. While the singles are well received and supported by Irish Radio, UK broadcasters fail to get behind the band. US Sitcom 'Friends' use a B-Side track, 'Tired Old Souls' in an episode and the band are asked to appear on the show. The resulting appearance caused major UK and Irish press and TV appearances. This increased publicity had the band well positioned for the release of their debut album. However, the band are shocked to find themselves dropped from their record label on the very day their debut album 'Where Old Ghosts Meet' is released. In spite of this, the band set off on a European Tour with The Cranberries, however, without a record to promote it was a somewhat pointless venture.
