OVERVIEW
Not so long out of her teens, yet Leanne Harte's bio seems to read like an old seasoned Rock musicians, and when you hear her debut album or see her live, she damn well sounds like one too. And why not! Leanne started singing and playing acoustic guitar at the early age of eight. By eleven Leanne penned and studio demoed her first ten original songs which received some airplay on Radio 1.

Shortly after that the scene was set, as Leanne retreated to her garage complete with home studio, electric guitar permanently strapped on her back, stereo blaring loudly as she discovered the wonderful world of jamming along with her idols Led Zeppelin, Rory Gallagher, Neil Young, and Jimi Hendrix.

A quick glance at this young Irish musician's My Space or Bebo pages reveals a further lengthy list of her current influences. Together with her idols listed above, Ms Harte also sites Tori Amos, Aimee Mann, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Metric, Joanna Newsom, Ani DiFranco, Heart, Rufus Wainwright, Angelo Badalamenti, Patti Smith, Pearl Jam, Robert Plant, Smashing Pumpkins, Martha Wainwright, KT Tunstall, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, Jan Akkerman, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, PJ Harvey, The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Melissa Etheridge, No Doubt, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Tegan and Sara, Alanis Morissette, Buffalo Springfield, Focus, Joan Armatrading, Alice in Chains, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, The Cure, Nick Drake, Deep Purple, Faith No More, Free, Janis Joplin, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Pretenders, Soundgarden, Johnny Cash, Willy Mason, The Murmurs, Concrete Blonde, Sinead O'Connor, Bjork, Blondie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Elliot Smith, Nickel Creek, The Organ, Sonic Youth, The Mars Volta, and Johnny Cash.

At sixteen Leanne signed a Management and Independent record deal, formed her first band, and recorded her critically acclaimed debut EP "Eradication" featuring five original tracks. The EP was recorded in Sun Studios, Dublin. Released on the True Talent Label and the experienced Paul Thomas was brought in to engineer "The man who engineered the first three U2 albums and worked with Phil Lynott to name but a few". The production seat was filled by Irish guitarist Aimon (ex. Samuel Eddy) who worked with the late great Rory Gallagher, Nils Lofgren and more.

The EP sold over 3,000 copies and received rave reviews across the board gaining favourable press, national radio play and live appearances on Sattitude, and The Café on RTE 1 and on Ireland AM on TV3. But most importantly Leanne's EP gained her favourable attention and respect amongst her young Rock contemporaries, as her live energetic stage performances (featuring her live backing band, top Irish rhythm section "The Well Worn Routine") continue to raise many an eyebrow at some of Europe's finest music venues. After witnessing Leanne in action, it becomes quite clear why Leanne at just sixteen became the youngest Irish artist ever to receive an International Guitar Endorsement Deal.

At only nineteen Leanne went to London and Wales to record her nine track debut album "Leanne Harte" with legendary Rock producer Chris Tsangarides (Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Free, Joan Armatrading, Depeche Mode ) Leanne recorded the album with Irish guitar legend Gary Moore's backing band, Jon Noyce (Jethro Tull, Gary Moore) on bass and Darrin Mooney (Primal Scream, Gary Moore) on drums and percussion. This album simply has the potential to become a Classic debut and at Twenty Leanne recorded her first solo acoustic album live in Paris due for release in April 2007.
