KILCLOON, CO. MEATH 2007 -
OVERVIEW
Lisa Hannigan is a singer-songwriter from Co. Meath. She came to public attention in the early 2000s as part of Damien Rice's band. Over the following years, she became an integral part of of Rice's sound. She provided vocals, guitar, bass guitar & drums on the 'O' and '9' albums. However, in 2007 the relationship broke down and Lisa parted company with Damien Rice.

Since launching her solo career, her star has been on the rise. In August 2008, she made the track 'Lille' available as a free download. This was the first taste of Lisa, the solo artist. It didn't disappoint. Her debut album 'See Sew' followed a month later. The cover of the labum featured Lisa's own needlework. The album itself was a very accomplished affair and received a multitude of accolades. In January 2009, 'Sea Sew' was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. The award ultimately went to Jape for the 'Ritual' album. The remainder of the year proved to busy for Lisa with TV appearances including slots with Jay Leno and Jools Holland and festival slots at The Electric Picnic and Le Chéile.

Lisa returned in 2011 with a new album entitled 'Passenger'. She recorded the record in Wales and London with Joe Henry.
