DUBLIN 2000 -
OVERVIEW
The Jimmy Cake is a Dublin-based experimental instrumental collective. The group has been in existence since 2000 with a lineup which has continuously evolved. Notable members of the collective have been John Brown [Trumpet & Banjo], Lisa Carey [Clarinet], John Dermody [Drums], Vincent Dermody [Guitar], Dara Higgins [Bass Guitar], Diarmuid MacDiarmada [Saxophones, 4-Track & Percussion], Simon O'Connor [Guitar & Glockenspiel], Jurgen Simpson [Accordion & Keyboards], Paul Smyth [Piano, Keyboards & Violin] and Patrick Kelleher [Synths, Vocals & Guitar]. Most of the members also perform as members of other musical projects.

To date, the band has released 6 albums - 'Brains' [2001], 'Dublin Gone, Everybody Dead' [2002], 'Superlady' [2003], 'Spectre And Crown' [2008], 'Master' [2015] and 'Tough Love' [2017]

- The Jimmy Cake perform as part of the second series of Other Voices, Songs From A Room which was recorded in St. James Church in Dingle. The series is broadcast on RTE Television in the Spring of 2004.
