OVERVIEW The story of JimNasty began in 1994. David Spier, David Power and Stuart Kenny all attended the same secondary school in Dublin, and as they were to discover, they each had a shared love of music. Being young and having nothing better to do, they took up instruments and formed a band. However the band lacked a singer, and that's where Charlie Marriott came in. A friend of the bands' recommended Charlie and so they invited him to practice, and he's still hanging around! The band began practicing regularly and eventually played their first gig in "The Rock Garden" (now Eamon Dorans') on September 3rd 1994 under the name "Mute". After another year or so of playing more gigs, they eventually went in to the studio to record their first demo in October of 1995. Songs included were "Coming Down", "State of mind" and "Blame". By this time the band were called "Gauge". Many band names came and went over the following years, but the personnel never changed. The name JimNasty eventually stuck around 1997, and since then the band have gained themselves (amongst friends and anyone else who has attended their gigs) a reputation as an uncompromising and powerful live act. JimNasty have recently completed the recording of their new demo, recorded at Waltons studios and mixed in Wizard studios Dublin, the CD comprises of the songs "what you lost", "43", "Let Go", "Jupiter", and "Mercy".
