OVERVIE W Brian Kenealy came to fame as the guitarist of 1990s glam-influenced indie darlings, Engine Alley. Along with his brother, Canice, the band established itself across a series of unforgettable singles such as 'The Flowers', 'Infamy'and 'Mrs. Winder'. Unfortunately, the band never reached the heights it deserved. While the band is still known to perform annual gigs, it is no longer active in the traditional sense. Brian has pursued other musical avenues outside of Engine Alley, including The Valleys and The Farlights. However, he really found his niche as a solo artist. SInce 2004, he has released two albums. The first of these 'Paradise Place' [2004] took it's name from a Dublin Street. The follow on record - which followed a full 9 years later - 'Hiems Transiit' is latin for 'The Winter Has Passed. While this may have any number of meanings, it was also the motto of St. Kieran's College in Kilkenny, where he went to school. Across these two records, Brian has continued to demonstrate his quality as a songwriter - drawing influence from the likes of The Beatles, Neil Young and not to forget, a certain Mr. Bowie. When he's not creating music himself, Brian's day job sees him working as a full time Music and English teacher in Mountjoy Prison in Dublin. 2004 - Release of 'Paradise Place' album [05 June] 2013 - Release of 'Hiems Transiit' album [18 May]
