OVERVIEW Fran has been writing songs since the age of fifteen, he formed his first band around the same time. He left school at 18 straight into fronting his first full time group The Exceptions. The next few years were spent playing in various covers bands the length and breath of Ireland. In 1997 as member of original pop/rock outfit Beach he scored a top thirty hit with his track Misunderstood. The band also had success with two follow up singles and performed shows in Europe and the U.S. before disbanding in 1999. Now fronting a new band he has completed recording his debut album titled 'Beautification' released in June 2005. It features a fine collection of melodic tracks which have already earned him comparisons with such artists as Aimee Mann, Neil Finn, & Harry Nilsson. Summer 2004 Fran (& band) played to an estimated 70,000 strong crowd in Dublin's famed Phoenix Park at Ireland's largest free open air concert O2 in the Park. A successful acoustic tour of Ireland as guest of acclaimed singer/songwriter David Hopkins followed, he also completed several national radio sessions. Fran has graced the stage / studio in the past with the likes of Texas, Cast, World Party, and has worked with Sugababes, Shola Ama, Brian Kennedy, Kieran Goss not forgetting legendary producer Sir George Martin to name a few. Somewhere along the way he's found time to complete two short film soundtracks (one award winning) and guested on the latest album from Dublin power pop band Pugwash titled 'Jollity'. 2005 was a good year for Fran, just before the albums release in June, he was asked to guest with Tears For Fears for three sell out Dublin shows. He also opened for Brendan Benson & David Mead. 2006 see's Fran release a second single from his critically acclaimed album, with nationwide dates to be announced on the gigs page soon.
