LIMERICK

2003 -

OVERVIEW KaderFire originated from early 2003 when Kevin Blake [Guitar] Barry Mulligan [Bass] and Craig Cullen [Drums] got together and starting jamming in Craig’s gaff in Killaloe,. In time they managed to get their sh*t together, their sh*t being of the instrumental progressive rock kind taking influence from the likes of The Redneck Manifesto, Tool and Slint. After coming to the realisation that the music they make might actually be used to entertain other individuals they named themselves after a burning house in Thailand for no particular reason at all and began gigging around Limerick in many venues such as the High Stool and the Savoy supporting various local acts blah blah blah… Anyways after a couple of gigs the band decided that there was a gap in their wall of sound which needed to filled, the solution being to take on board a new member. Enter Patrick Keating Karney (guitar/vocals) providing this extra layer of sonic assault as well as the occasional piece of motherf*cking lyrical content and so completed the line-up for KaderFire as it is today. The quartet continued to gig around the local circuit in limerick earning respect from audiences without the use of fire arms ,bomb threats or the offer of free drugs. In the summer of 2003 Kader Fire decided to do a recording session with Limericks answer to Steve Albini, Mark O’Connor, at his Balls of Iron studios. The four track e.p. “All you’re left with…” was the fruit of their labour which the band self released and was available at Black spot records and Empire records in Limerick and Road Records in Dublin (Copies of the E.P are no longer available from the shops but if you want a copy give us an email). They gigged as much as possible to promote this release, playing in Cork, Galway and Kilkenny as well as regular gigs in the High Stool and Dolans in Limerick. KaderFire continued gigging regularly and writing new material into the summer of 2004. The new material saw the band take on a edgier rawer sound but not without loosing sight of their original direction. Towards the end of the summer of 2004 they recorded a 3 track demo as a sampler of their new material which was recorded by Martin Keary of 22 in a shitty bedroom and an old abandoned mansion. The band were accepted to play at the Hard Working Class Heroes festival in Dublin, a festival dedicated to exposing unknown and unsigned Irish acts where they played and had a ball. Right now we’re keeping up the frequent gigging and still writing more new material with the intention of recording an album within the next few months. 2003 - Band formed - Release of 'All That You're Left With' single
