1997 - 2004 & 2005 - 2010

OVERVIEW The Keds was a punk-rock band which was active on and off from about 1997 until 2010. The group was formed in Drogheda and featured Keith Smith [Vocals & Guitar], Gerard Bowe [Guitar & Vocals], Brendan Leech [Bass Guitar] and Trevor Clarke [Drums]. The band released a debut EP entitled 'The Jury' in 2001. While the exact track listing is unknown, the EP was well received. That year also saw the band play a number of live gigs, most notably the Witnness Festival. In 2004, the band split for a period before getting back together the following year. The band set its sights on recording a debut album. The record, 'Cloaks And Daggers' was finally released in September 2007. Once again, the group's recorded output was warmly recieved. Across the 11 tracks, the album featured fine examples of punchy punk-pop at its best. One of these tracks, 'No Sense In It' was released as a single in March 2008. In 2010, The Keds project was put on hold indefinitely.
