BELFAST 2015 -
OVERVIEW
Pleasure Beach is a band which formed out of a meeting in a Belfast coffee shop in January 2015. The members had all being members of other musical projects.including Yes Cadets and In An Instant. The original line up included Alan Haslam [Vocals, Guitar & Keyboards], Lisa Mageean [Drums & Vocals], Richard Crawford [Bass Guitar & Vocals], Kat Hepworth [Guitar & Vocals] and Rachel Toman [Keyboards & Vocals]. Rachel has since departed and has been replaced by Cheylene Murphy who had played with indie pop band Wonder Villains.

The band follows a recently trend of Irish bands creating innovative synth-based music. Pleasure Beach's sound has been described as 'Indie Glam Rock/Pop'. Quite a mouthful but also a fairly accurate description of what to expect from the band. The group rapidly made a name for itself on the local scene with debut single 'Go' receiving heavy rotation airplay. The group continued to build momentum and made an appearance at the Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin.

In October 2015, the band released its debut EP 'Dream To The Dawn' which featured the aforementioned 'Go', 'Hayley' as well as the title track. The band has also been announced to play support to The Vaccines in Dublin's Olympia Theatre in Dublin in December. An impressive first 12 months for an exciting new band.
