KERRY 2002 -
OVERVIEW
Ten Past Seven are an instrumental rock band from Kerry. The line up features Rory O'Brien [Guitar], Matt Shallow [Bass Guitar] and Ger Mangan [Drums]. The trio had played together for a period priot to this as Rift. Under this guise, the lads contributed the track 'Tobacco Suicide' to the 'AIB : Blast : Beat - Volume 1' compilation. However, things started in earnest in 2002 as Ten Past Seven was born. The following year saw the band release their 'onehundredandfiftydegrees' E.P. which introduced them to a much wider audience. The ionthird track on the EP, 'The Second Bridge' would appear on the 'Cork Is An Anagram Of Rock' EP which was released in 2004.

The band signed up with Out On A Limb Records and released their debut album, 'Shut Up Your Face' on that imprint in January 2006. In 2007, the band climbed Carrauntoohil (the highest mountain in Ireland) to release a split 7" with Cork's Los Langeros. In September of that year, the group was selected to perform at the annual Hard Working Class Heroes Festival in Dublin. It was a further 3 years before the band returned with a new EP. The 'Bothar Buí' EP, released in November 2010, featured Katie Kim on vocals on the title track. The following year saw the band travel to the Black Box Studios near the Loire Valley in France to record an EP with Dave Odlum. The output from these sessions was the appropriately-titled 'Black Box Recordings' EP featuring 'Johnston's Cove', 'Orientation' and 'O.N.O. '.
