1997 - 2002

OVERVIEW The Terranauts was a Cork-based alternative rock band which preceeded bands such as The New Messiahs, Hope Is Noise and Slow Motion Heroes. The group was formed in 1997 by Dan Breen [Vocals & Guitar], Joe Jolley [Guitar], Pat Gillen [Bass Guitar] and Louis Angelini [Drums]. The band was active until 2002, however, there are no known releases from The Terranauts. In 2002, the band met Chicago native, Chris Morales and formed The New Messiahs. That band performed together for about 2 years before Chris returned to the US The four remaining 'Terranauts' then became Hope Is Noise who released a fine body of work. Dan and Joe would later emerge as part of Slow Motion Heroes. Dan also played with El Bastardo. 1997 - Band formed 2002 - The Terranauts recruit Chris Morales and become The New Messiahs
