1986 - 1991

OVERVIEW Toucandance was a Limerick based band which was active in the second half of the 1980s. The band was formed by Eamonn Hehir [Vocals]. Over the years, the lineup has included Des O'Dwyer [Guitar], Sean Fox [Bass Guitar], Michael Ryan [Keyboards], Mary Yelverton [Vocals] and Tony Brennan [Drums]. In 1990, the band contributed the track 'Telephone' to the 'Reindeer Age' compilation. The collection which was released on Xeric Records, gathered together many of the best acts from the Limerick area. The band released one single entitled 'Green Eyes' in 1991. The band split short after this. Sean, Des and Eamonn joined The Outpatients, a band which also featured Tony Roche. Hehir later formed Small Mercies (or Eamonn Hehir & The Small Mercies) and recruited his two previous band mates O'Dwyer and Fox as part of the lineup. 1986 - Band formed 1990 - Toucandance contribute the track 'Telephone' to the 'Reindeer Age' compilation 1991 - Release of 'Green Eyes' single [January] - Band split
