I once had a boyfriend that realised he was gay after going to a Turn gig and seeing Gavin the bass player. As you can imagine, tonight I've got issues.

But two seconds into "Beretta" and they've already slipped my mind. Suited and booted with impressive style, the Turn lady and gents deliver their noise assault with more energy than a Duracell bunny with attention deficit disorder. The genius of "Never Needed You" secures its place as the ultimate anthem for bedroom-mirror rock stars the world over. And the manic beauty of "Beeswax" manages to be menacing and lovable at once, and sees singer Ollie deliver his finest Adam-Ant-in-a-super-strop vocals.

With the crowd merrily thrashing every sound, it certainly won't be long before Turn's squadrons of supporters are as easily recognisable as the Manic Street Preachers and Oasis. Side-stepping every rock cliché but fulfilling every rock dream. Turn are the band destined to fill stadiums but stay flawless. And if a couple of hearts get broken along the way, it'll be well worth it.
