OVERVIEW Yawning Chasm is the musical vehicle for Aaron Coyne from Galway. Aaron had previously performed with Mirakil Whip and he is also known to play live with The Brno Chairs which is fronted by his brother Kenneth. In recent times, Yawning Chasm, has expanded to include musical companions Declan Kelly [Keyboards] and Jimmy Monaghan [Drums]. Yawning Chasm's style is primarily acoustic folk rock. The band released a debut EP entitled 'The Shadow Is That Hidden' in 2009 on Rusted Rail Records. The CD release was limited to 30 copies, each featuring a unique hand made cover. The 6-track collection was later expanded to 9 songs and made available as an internet download in 2012. Also in 2012, the band released 'Snarl' album. The album featured material which was recorded between 2006 and 2008. That year also saw the band release a body of new material. First up was the 'Whispering Sun' EP which was released in March. A couple on months later in June, a further EP appeared. 'Butterfly And Crab' featured standout tracks 'Soulkiller' and 'Monster'.
